The Final of the UBMBC 2022 Major Singles Championship was played this afternoon (13/3/2022). After a three day break from all of the rain, we had a shower at the start of play, which delayed the game by 15 minutes.
Despite
the rain and the green slowing down a bit, Shane and Jim played great
draw bowls, throughout the game. Jim was a bit slow getting off the
mark, but found his length to make this a great contest.
The game was closer than the final score suggests, but credit to both players. Congratulations to Jim Phillips on making his first Major Singles Final and even bigger Congratulations to Shane Waddell, who played in his third final in three years, including winning back to back UBMBC Major Singles Championships.
